Description

This is not a definitive book on the subject of midlife.  It is simply a story and reflections of one soul wrestling with the challenges that accompanies this phase of life

In this journey, Earnest observes a paradox "what seemingly appears to be negative is that which redeems us."  Though we experience self-doubt, confusion and angst at midlife, we are, in truth, being invited to explore new possibilities of being and becoming.  Thus, Earnest invites us not to fear going through "the dark tunnel" and celebrate the wisdom, wonder and wholeness that may come out of it.

Quotes

"Trust is the essence.  Trust that the end is not darkness, but light. The light cannot be appreciated unless one passes through darkness. Learn also to be at ease with darkness or else face the alternative of missing out on the journey itself."

"The irony is the more we relegate our power to life and to God, the more we feel empowered to direct our own life."

"It is a blessing to learn to love, but it is even a greater blessing to learn to let go without a heavy-heart."
